چکیده

The development of digital communications creates new challenges for spectrum surveillance. Similarly, modern signal processing techniques and increasing available computational power make communication discretion ever more difficult. In this paper, we present recent methods based on time-frequency analysis and on statistical analysis of fluctuations, that are useful for detection and identification of transmissions in a noncooperative context. Furthermore, promising research concerning the use of chaotic signals to develop furtive transmission systems is also presented.

Evaluation of Interception in Astragalus parrowianus, (Case Study: Gonbad Rangeland of Hamadan Province, Iran)

Vegetation cover is the first barrier for the raindrops resulting to the interception and infiltration loss. Interception as one of the main components of ecohydrology equation plays a major role in the water balance of rangelands. However, few studies have been done on the interception of rangeland plants in Iran. This study was carried out to find the interception rate in Astragalus parrowian...

The role of rainfall and light interception by litter on maintenance of surface soil water content in an arid rangeland (Khabr National Park, southeast of Iran)

Abstract The impact of rainfall and light interception by litter on maintenance of surface soil water content is determined in an arid rangeland in Khabr National Park in south-east of Iran. Litter weight sampling is done by 90 square plots, each 1 m2, that are randomly placed within site. After determining the intensity of a typical storm of the region (20 mm/h), the rainfall duration requir...

A New Receiver for Chaotic Digital Transmissions: The Symbolic Matching Approach

— Chaotic digital transmissions have recently emerged as a way to improve the security and privacy of digital transmissions. In this paper, we propose a new approach to estimate the transmitted symbols on the receiver side. This approach, that we call “Symbolic Matching”, consists in matching vectors built from the received signal with a symbolic model of the chaotic oscillator trajectories. Si...

Using Antenna Array Redundancy and Channel Diversity for Secure Wireless Transmissions

The use of signal processing techniques to protect wireless transmissions is proposed as a way to secure wireless networks at the physical layer. This approach addresses a unique weakness of wireless networks whereby network traffic traverses a public wireless medium making traditional boundary controls ineffective. Specifically, a randomized array transmission scheme is developed to guarantee ...

Nyquist folding digital receiver for signal interception

A new architecture, denoted as the Nyquist folding digital receiver (NYFDR), to compress the data for signal interception is presented. The NYFDR is a digital version of the Nyquist folding receiver (NYFR). Simulation results show that the NYFDR has advantages over NYFR in the detection of Nyquist zone. Moreover, the data rate and resource consumption of the NYFDR are less than those of the dig...
